Yesterday was my very first BrisStyle Indie Market in the recently refurbished Brisbane City Hall.

We were in the Sherwood Room and loved having Marta (Marta Walenda) and Kristine (Jewellry by Kristine) as our stall neighbours. Having met Marta last year, it’s been fantastic seeing her business grow and prosper since then and it was really special to meet Kristine for the first time – especially as she works with precious metal clay.

They both produce such beautiful jewellery and it was wonderful to share the day with such fun and encouraging women (oh and Maciek too – he’s Marta’s partner).
It was such a fun day and it sped by so quickly. I loved showing off my new grey and mandarine glaze colours in person…

Bottom row: Green, Pink and Yellow

… and was thrilled to hand over so many purchases to such friendly and warm new friends! Seeing my stickered bags heading out of the door is a delight and such an encouragement. I really enjoyed meeting so many new people – some of whom were fb or instagram friends but now I’ve actually met them! Happy days!!
Oh! One other new thing I proudly displayed was our new white tablecloth. I whipped it up on Thursday night…

A tablecloth is a marketer’s best friend. Not only does it help to communicate our branding, style and character, it helps to hide our stock, our packaging, our boxes, trolley, snacks, water bottles, etc.
And in my case….

…My husband!
Andrew was his usual amazing self yesterday – having a starring role with getting me and the stock safely to the market (oh, big thanks to everyone who checked in re: my ankle. It is so much better than last weekend but I still need to be cautious as it is still swollen and tender). But it had been a big morning and he took advantage of the bubble wrap and curled up under the table for a bit.

Ah, he’s the best.
All in all, it was a big, fun, surprising and colourful day. Thanks again to everyone who came along, checked out our display, said hello, purchased an item and/or gave me a smile.
I am hoping to get back into the studio this week – I’m working on a few new pretties to build the range and am especially looking forward to completing some custom orders!
With a big smile for you, Rachel.
Hi Rachie, Great to hear your market went well & your ankle is improving. I had a Woolies BBQ on Saturday and $150 was raised for Chaplaincy. Thinking of going to GOMA for the Orson Wells retrospective ( $10.50 ) and possibly the Balmoral cinema for a movie sometime this week. Love, Dad.
Sounds like you had a big Saturday as well! Oh, the retired life sounds fantastic 🙂 I’m hoping to see you and Mum this week – will be in touch soon! Thanks for the comment xo
Your stall looks great Rachel. Love the various coloured glazes for your cups, especially the yellow. Hope your ankle heals soon! Julia
Thank you Julia! The ankle is a little sore after being on it all day but it is getting better so I just have to be patient. Not that I’m good at that 😛 Yay for yellow right? Its probably my second favourite colour 🙂
You’re welcome Rachel. Continue to take care of your ankle. I’m not good at patience either 😉
