We had our very first ‘Handmade Redcliffe‘ market on the weekend…

…we loved it!
I grew up in Redcliffe – just around the corner from Kippa-Ring State School – so it is pretty special to be a part of the expanding Handmade Redcliffe market.
As a market freshie, I’m still finding my feet when it comes to… well, pretty much everything market related! But, I’ve found that doing a mock-up at home, saves sooooo much time on the day and having photos to reference is brilliant for keeping the stress levels under control.

As you can see, I have a slightly higher table which works really well for viewing my ceramics wares. I’ve used wooden blocks and a wooden rack to add height to the display and found woven mats work really well in emphasising/highlighting pieces.

We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon – meeting some wonderfully friendly people, sharing laughs, smiles and stories. The sea breeze was delightful – almost as delightful as the fellow store holders! It was great catching up with Deb from Lady Brass Steampunk Garnishes and fantastic to meet some new favourites in Sar & Kenzi from I Made It, Kaitlyn from Katiecake Design, Shirley from Stamping Elephants, Amy & Andrew from Monkey & Poppet, Kerry from Flame Tree Aromatics and Andrea from Beads 4 Broads.
Itching for next month’s market – lock in Dec 7th!!
After such a fulfilling Saturday, Andrew and I headed up the coast on Sunday to enjoy some relaxing beach time. It is hard to believe that we’ve been in QLD for about 9 months and until yesterday, hadn’t been to the beach – inconceivable!

The weather was perfect, the water refreshing and our ice-creams cones were amazing! Big thumbs up for that Snickers flavoured ice-cream!! It was so lovely to have a proper day off together.
Especially considering that it’s been all go today! Spent the morning organising and posting off orders and spent most of the afternoon at wheel working away on orders… including these pretties…..

Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
As for the rest of the week, there’s more orders to make and I’m hoping to update the store with a few new products if I get the time! *fingers crossed*
Hope your week is off to a great start!
With a big smile, Rachel
