The Murray River by day
- A Murray River sunset
As we cruised up and down the Murray River, there was some beautiful sights to see. Our houseboat was fantastic and had plenty of space for the 8 adults. We also had the Beckers and Demetrious join us with a houseboat of their own, ensuring a fleet status along the River. It was great to hang out with the family – catching up, playing games, reading books, warming up by the fire, eating tasty food and hearing what’s in store in the second half of the year for everybody.
Not to mention celebrating my MIL’s birthday all together in person and getting to know this cutie a bit more…
One of the funniest moments of the trip occurred on the last morning. After some decent rain the night before, we had a bit of difficulty mooring the boat for a couple of reasons. We approached the bank a few times but finding a spot with hard enough sand proved tough. The boys though they found a safe spot – Andrew started pulling the plank out… he steps off the plank, onto the bank and “SLURP” – in he sunk!! It was amazing. And as Murphy’s Law would have it, even though he had rolled up with jeans, the sand went just higher.
All in all, it was a most wonderful holiday.
